Description
English literacy for Deaf and Hard of Hearing children is a significant priority for many parents and educators. This CD attempts to contribute to opening up the world of books to this population. Three P.D. Eastman stories: Go, dog, go!, Are you my mother? and Sam and the firefly are told in ASL by Tracy Bell Koster and in cued speech by Tori Erickson. Interpreters can benefit by examining how the models make use of space. A section is included which presents a paper by Doug Bowen-Bailey explaining linguistic spatial features of Figure and Ground and their relevance for interpreters.
Language
In English and ASL.
