While bacterial infections are treated with antibiotics, viral infections were left to just run their course. However, there are prescription drugs that can be used as treatment for the influenza, or flu virus. These drugs are an important tool against the flu, especially for those who are at higher risk of developing severe illnesses due to the flu.
