Description
On July 20, 1969, Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin and Neil Armstrong made history as the first humans to walk on the moon. Their mission was the crowning achievement of NASA's Apollo space program, which aimed to put a man on the moon and return him safely home before the end of the decade. The mission also cemented the U.S.'s status as victor in the "space race" against Russia.
