Description
The untold story of ex-Vietnam POW Colonel Carlyle "Smitty" Harris, who brought hope, strength, and the love of God to his fellow American POWs. Shot down over Vietnam on April 4, 1965, horrors awaited him in the infamous Hoa Lo prison-- the "Hanoi Hilton." There, hundreds of POWs suffered torture, solitary confinement, and abuse. Smitty remembered the Tap Code-- a World War II method of communication through tapping on a common water pipe. The code spread throughout the prison covertly, became a lifeline, and was instrumental in helping them prevail over a brutal enemy. This is the true story of faith, hope, and ingenuity under the darkest circumstances. -- adapted from jacket
