Organization & arrangement of materials
Organized into five series: I. Genealogical charts and materials, 1973-1980; II. Posters, 1963-2008; III. Class photographs, diplomas, and certificates, 1845-1928; IV. Photographs, 1911-1962; and V. Artwork, 1972-2001. Items are grouped by subject matter and format into drawers. A few items are rolled in boxes on shelves in the map room.

Scope and content: Genealogical charts of prominent families and related materials; posters related to Nashville and Tennessee events and history; diplomas; certificates; photographs; and artwork.
I. Genealogical charts and materials, 1973-1980. Genealogical pedigree charts for several prominent Nashville families, including James Robertson, and other oversize materials of genealogical interest.
II. Posters, 1963-2008. Posters for Nashville area attractions, events, and historical subjects, including the Southern Festival of Books, the Tennessee State Museum, historical/biographical posters published by the Tennessee Historical Commission, events at local parks, items related to Homecoming '86 and the State Bicentennial, Market Street Festival, and a variety of other subjects, locations, and sponsoring organizations.
III. Class photographs, diplomas, and certificates, 1845-1928. Diplomas and certificates, most relating to schools, particularly Hume Fogg High School and University of Nashville. Some items may relate to churches or other organizations. Photographs concern schools. Many items are extremely fragile and require great care when handling.
IV. Photographs, 1911-1962. Photographs of a wide variety of subjects, including aerial photographs of Nashville or specific buildings or locations within Nashville, and panoramic group portraits. Some items are extremely fragile and require great care when handling.
V. Artwork, 1972-2001. Various original artwork or reproductions, some signed and numbered by the artist. Includes some Nashville and Tennessee artists. Nashville subjects include skylines, buildings, commemorative artwork for special events, and the Civil War.
