Description
The Bunny Years is a memoir interwoven with personal profiles and photographs of the remarkable range of women who worked as Bunnies during the 25 year history of the Playboy Clubs. The Bunny Years is based on the author's interviews with more than 250 former Bunnies and her personal recollections working in the New York Club while attending the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Among the former Bunnies in the book are Gloria Steinem (with whom the author took Bunny training, appearing with others in Steinem's controversial 1963 article, A Bunny's Tale), enduring supermodel and actress Lauren Hutton, actresses Susan Sullivan (Dharma & Greg, My Best Friend's Wedding), Barbara Bosson (Hill Street Blues, Murder One), Jackie Zeman (General Hospital) and rock singer/actress Deborah Harry. Profiles an astonishing assortment of successful, outspoken and highly articulate former Bunnies, including several psychologists, the owner of a multi-million dollar New York advertising agency, a distinguished scientist, an opera singer, an attorney, a restaurateur, numerous schoolteachers -- and a midwife who was both a beauty queen and a nun before becoming a Bunny. --Publisher.
