Description
In 1977, a gay teen named Tammy living in Orange County, California begins writing letters to a San Francisco pen pal named Sharon for a school assignment, eventually confiding to her about her feelings for women. Sharon reveals she has a brother who is gay, and after Tammy runs away from her strict Christian family when they learn she's gay, she meets up with Sharon in San Francisco and both join in with movements for gay rights.
