Architect Mike Brady marries the beautiful Carol Martin, who has three girls to care for. Widower Mike has his three boys that he has been raising all alone. The marriage joins these eight into one large, average, ideal American middle class family. Of course, raising such a large family isn't easy, so live-in housekeeper Alice is always there to lend a helpful hand.

When he overhears a doctor discussing the imminent death of a patient, hypochondriac George believes the doctor is referring to him. Convinced he's living on borrowed time, he enlists his best friend Arnold to help him find a new husband for his soon-to-be-widowed wife Judy.

A detective gives a ride to a half-naked girl, who is abruptly killed by thugs. Almost killed himself, the detective tries to solve the murder.
